Founded in 1903 by Eduardo Antonio León Jimenes near the community of Don Pedro, Guazumal, close to Tamboril, the La Aurora factory, the precursor of the León Jimenes brand, was the first cigar factory in the Dominican Republic.
This venture was inspired and supported by land acquisitions for tobacco by his father, Antonio Gavino León González, marking the beginning of what would become an emblematic family business in the Dominican tobacco industry.
